Dale Halley Promoted to Vice President - Engineering Services of Denver Office
Denver, CO – Marston is pleased to announce that Dale Halley has been promoted to Vice President – Engineering Services for Marston’s Denver office. Halley joined Marston in 1998 as a Project Manager. He offers 23 years of mining experience in due diligence evaluations; surface coal mine design and planning; coal blasting; equipment utilization; reserve modeling and evaluation; cost analysis; long- and short-term scheduling; project management; mine construction and land reclamation. Halley is a registered professional engineer (P.E.) in Missouri and has a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. He is a member of the Society of Mining Engineers of AIME and director of the Denver Coal Club.

Carl Fessenden Joins Marston as Consulting Engineer
Denver, CO – Marston is pleased to announce that Carl Fessenden, Consulting Engineer, has recently joined the company. With more than 20 years of mining experience, Fessenden is a versatile, accomplished mining engineer with expertise in software systems, consulting and engineering services with an emphasis on mine design and scheduling. His technical expertise includes ensuring detail and quality focused completion of mine feasibility studies, geological models, mine designs, scheduling and budgets. His has advanced technical skills in CAD software, geological modeling, analytical tools, mine design and production scheduling software. Fessenden is a results-focused leader who demonstrates professionalism, integrity and dedication to excellence. Fessenden worked for Marston in the 1990s and prior to re-joining Marston, he worked for Mincom, and as a freelance mining consultant. Fessenden’s work experience also includes working as an engineer at Rand Mines and Buffelsfontein Gold Mine, both in South Africa. Fessenden holds a mining engineering degree from the University of Utah (BS) and a management diploma from the University of South Africa. He will be based in Marston’s Lakewood, Colorado office.

St. Louis, MO - Marston, a world leader in coal supply consulting and coal mine engineering services, has appointed Mindset Coal Consultancy Services CC as Marston's South Africa agent. From Mindset's Pretoria office, Mindset and Marston now provide a local presence with a global reach to clients throughout Southern Africa. Mr. Wynand Marais, Pr. Cert. Eng., Mindset's principal, is Marston's primary contact in South Africa. Wynand has more than 38 years of experience in mining including working at Anglo Coal and New Denmark Collieries in executive, managerial and operations roles. He is an expert in all mining methods, mining technology, labor utilization and productivity, and has participated in several mine health and safety audits and due diligence audits.
