Management

Eye on management…

Marston provides its clients with a broad spectrum of management consulting, focused exclusively on the mining industry, with the goal of providing “hard” data on historical and current performance to assist operators and/or investors, either existing or potential.

We read it right…

Often, critical interpretation of data can prove to be more important than the actual compilation, and this is where Marston consultants, with their years of practical mining experience and worldwide perspective, prove to be invaluable.

Keep the old, be the new…

It is often necessary to quantify and compare performance at existing mining operations, and to propose improvements.  This is true when evaluating alternate mining methods, equipment or procedures.  To make valid economic comparisons, the existing mining system must either be optimized, or at least the optimum output from the existing investment in equipment, personnel and other systems must be determined.

Marston can provide a wide range of services, ranging from the more traditional time-and-motion studies for improving productivity to more sophisticated on-line monthly benchmarking of specific equipment performance.  In some cases, it may be possible to determine the required degree of accuracy that can be derived from a review of existing data, while at other times it may be necessary to measure specific performance over a wide range of operating times and conditions.

Whatever the need, Marston can pinpoint the specific areas that must be quantified, and can develop the best procedures for gathering and compiling the actual data.
